Fried Pies With Chicken – Russian Cuisine
Pies – A Visiting Card Of Russian Cuisine.
In Russia they were cooked with meat and rice, fish, mushrooms. As a matter of fact it is pies, only “unbuttoned”.
Today we cook pies with chicken and vegetables.
For their preparation we will prepare products on the list.
Dry yeast – 1 tsp.
Sugar – 1 tbsp.
Salt – 1 tsp.
Milk – 140 ml
Sunflower oil – 3 tbsp.
Wheat Flour – 380 g
Eggs of chicken – 1 pc.
Boiled chicken meat – 300 g
Onion – 1 pc.
Garlic – 2 slices
Carrots – 1 pc.
Dill – 1 bunch
Salt, pepper – to taste
Milk – 1 tbsp.
Egg yolk – 1 pc.
Butter – 20 g
First we prepare the dough. Mix flour, salt, sugar and yeast. Add warm milk, sunflower oil and egg.
We knead a soft dough, which we put into a bowl, oiled. Cover the bowl with a film and leave it in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours.
In the meantime, let’s deal with the filling. Onions and garlic are cut into small cubes, carrots are rubbed on a large grater. All fry.
Add the chopped boiled chicken meat, fry another literally a minute.
Add the chopped finely dill, salt and pepper to taste. The filling is ready. Let’s cool completely.
Meanwhile, the dough came and is ready to go.
We extinguish it, divide it into 8-10 parts. Each part is kneaded into a flat cake, we spread the filling and tear it in such a way that the middle is open.
We put the blanks on a baking sheet covered with parchment. In the middle of each pie, put a little butter. Lubricate the pies with chicken with a mixture of yolk and milk.
Bake in a preheated to 220C (428F) degrees oven for 20-30 minutes.
Ready pies cool on the grate.
