Intuition Spiritual Mind and Higher Consciousness

Intuition is the ability to acquire knowledge without proof, evidence, or conscious reasoning, or without understanding how the knowledge was acquired. Perceiving directly by intuition without rational thought, as a person or the mind.

We all have voices in our heads but whose voice is it? How can we tell the difference between the ego, the intuition and the voice of your spirit guides? Thousands of thoughts enter in and out of our mind every minute of every day, some consciously and some subconsciously. Being aware of all the voices in your mind is challenging but also crucial on the path to enlightenment.

In fact, many spiritual teachers and the practice of meditation, teaches us not to engage with our thoughts and to instead be the observer. For after all, we are not our thoughts, but the observer behind them- we are the one who is listening to our thoughts.

The voice of the Ego: The ego’s main job is physical survival and through our early years we often take it on as our main voice because it helps protect and teaches us boundaries.

Higher consciousness is the consciousness of a higher Self, transcendental reality, or God. It is “the part of the human being that is capable of transcending animal instincts”. Developing Intuition: a guide to accessing and decoding the language of your soul.

The conscious mind is that part of the iceberg above the water; it involves our conscious awareness of what is around us and our conscious decisions. The unconscious mind, on the other hand, is like the greater mass of ice below the water. It houses our memories of past experiences, a great deal of knowledge and contains a range of unconscious beliefs that we build up during our lifetime about ourselves and the world. It also wants what is best for us and can guide us in connecting with and developing intuition. Developing intuition is an art, not a science. To become masterful you must practice every chance you get. Sometimes our intuition emerges through signs or symbols, sometimes in our awake state and sometimes in dreams. This is certainly my experience in life. Have you had the experience of interpreting an occurrence in life as a sign or have symbols brought meaning to you?

Your Higher Mind is the part of your consciousness that you are really tapping into when you do spiritual practices. Your Higher Mind, as part of your Divine soul self, only knows the truth, and is literally a spiritual channel. You don’t have to consider yourself spiritual to tap into this aspect of your consciousness. You can even consider yourself an atheist, and it still works quite well. This is because our universe is based on energy, and this part of you is simply energy. It doesn’t care whether you believe in it or not, though belief in it may create resonance in energy fields to optimize its function.

Your Higher Mind is an aspect of your consciousness that you can use to channel nonlocal intuition. Nonlocal intuition comes from an unexplained knowing, and has nothing to do with pattern recognition or memory retrieval.

There are several designations or levels of consciousness, when we talk about human beings. What we experience or identify to be conscious reality is really the tip of the iceberg of massive proportion, potentially and literally God-like ability. However, down here in the conscious state we tend to limit ourselves. We tend to be sometimes defeatist, negative or self destructive due to our conditioning. The separation that we have down here on this dimension can induce these negative feelings and feelings of being small and insignificant. The truth of the matter is that we are not small and not insignificant; we are plugged into a mega-being, a mega-entity, the God-Force of incredible proportions. The road to getting through to understanding your legacy, your connection to this force, to the I-Am force inside each person, is that we are literally a portion of this God particle in its simplest human form.

In principle, meaning of life is the same for everybody: As multifaceted as we human beings may be, once our existential needs are covered, we all finally strive for the same thing: We want to be perpetually happy and satisfied and we want to be able to live our lives without worries and cares. Spiritual information should serve to understand our life and our life’s tasks better and thereby to achieve our purpose of life more easily. A contact to the spiritual world can be in particularly helpful to sense and confirm one’s goals and tasks of life. In addition, this spiritual contact can be a tremendously important guide and assistance in our daily life.

Learning to listen to your intuition can be challenging at first. Your intuition may tell you to take a turn that you do not understand. Listening to my intuition has taught me that there is a flow to allowing those waters to sweep you into a mysterious world in which things somehow work out in surprising ways. The voice of our intuition sounds like our own voice, just calm, collected, and sure. Worry, doubt, logic, and reason are all chatter that fills the mind and drowns out our intuition, so we do the work to quiet those voices that are not our own.

Ego is Logical – Intuition is Creative. Often the ego’s voice will sound logical and rational. The advice is based on a past that no longer exists. It may sound like, “Of course do this because it worked for you in the past or this method worked for other people”. Intuition rarely sounds logical or rational – it is the creative voice – the solution that seems to come out of left field.

Ego Sounds Harsh – Intuition is Neutral. The ego’s voice is judgmental to the point of being abusive – telling you things about yourself to make you believe that you are a bad person and not to be trusted. This will make you treat yourself in disrespectful and unloving ways. Intuition is neutral in energy and these messages makes you treat yourself in loving and respectful ways.

Intuition is a roadmap leading to our inner selves. It is the deep knowing, the small voice that says to check on a sleeping child or call a sick friend, without knowing why. We all have it, but sometimes our lives are so noisy that we have trouble listening. Fortunately, we can learn to get in touch with that part of ourselves, and Yoga provides the tools we need.

Patanjali’s Sutra, an ancient guide to Yoga, explains how the mind works and how we can use the components of Yoga to build an all-embracing lifestyle: Study of sacred writings; Strong boundaries in relationships and actions; Self-study and pure living; Meditation, or letting go of attachments. Intuition is the voice of your Spirit. Learn to trust it. Any relationship takes time to build that trust. This one is no different. Your intuition has always been a part of you. Whether you consciously use it or not, believe me you are relying on it to some degree in your everyday life. In business, in relationships, in your own body, in making decisions, you give credence to the voice of your Spirit.

One of the key differences between intuition and “regular” thought is that intuitive insight is not cyclical (at least not like the mind-based thought). You get an intuitive insight once, and most likely before the main thought activity starts taking place i.e. before you start thinking about something. You might get the same insight in the future, but it doesn’t repeat itself like regular mental activity – it disengages. You get it, and then it stops. In fact, it may seem to have a “will of its own”, popping up on its own accord. In order to quiet your own mind, it works best if you simply relax and quiet yourself. To calm down the waters of a tank, all you do is to keep it still. You can interpret this as meditation, and indeed meditation seeks to connect yourself better with your spiritual nature. But it works if you just lay down and stay quiet and relaxed for a few moments.

Create the intention to begin noticing your intuition. Set out to stop ignoring or dismissing this aspect of yourself. Shut off your inner critic that needs to rationalize everything, and just listen – without judgment. You must first be willing to hear the truth in your heart. That’s what the intuition speaks for. Meditate. The intuition’s most important role is that it alerts us to the path, people, and circumstances that we will uniquely find fulfilling. Using your intuition or sixth sense is just like working a muscle. It will get stronger the more you use it.

All of God’s children are endowed with the highest intelligence: intuition, the all-knowing wisdom of the soul. Intuition is that power of Spirit inherited by the soul by which truth is perceived directly, without the medium of any other faculty. Intuition is soul guidance, appearing naturally in man during those instants when his mind is calm. Nearly everyone has had the experience of an inexplicably correct “hunch” or has transferred his thoughts accurately to another person. The only way to know and to live in truth is to develop the power of intuition. Then you will see that life has a meaning, and that no matter what you are doing the inner voice is guiding you.

Qualities of Intuition: Distinct from senses, thoughts, and intellect. The senses and mind are the outer doors through which knowledge percolates into the consciousness. Human knowledge filters in through the senses and is interpreted by the mind. If the senses err in perception, the conclusion drawn by the understanding of that data is also incorrect. A white gossamer cloth fluttering in the distance may look like a ghost, and a superstitious person believes that it is a ghost; but closer observation reveals the error of that conclusion. The senses and understanding are easily deluded because they cannot grasp the real nature, the essential character and substance, of created things. Intuition comes from within; thought, from without. Intuition gives a face-to-face view of Reality; thought gives an indirect view of it. Intuition, by a strange sympathy, sees Reality in its totality, while thought chops it up into parts.

Pure reason and pure feeling both have intuitive qualities. Pure feeling sees as clearly as pure reason. Most women have a keenly developed intuition. Only when they become unduly excited do they lose their intuitive powers. Pure reason is also intuitive, if this power is sufficiently developed. Otherwise, should the premise be wrong, the conclusion will be wrong also. Sooner or later, every man who reasons clearly will develop true intuition, which never errs.
